Donate Your Hair

We proudly accept hair donations to help reduce costs and provide access to custom extensions for women pre and post-chemotherapy.

All donated hair is carefully collected, prepared, and processed in-house, then transformed into extensions for clients experiencing financial hardship.

Each donation is thoughtfully matched to a client in need, helping restore confidence and self-esteem. In select cases, donors and recipients may choose to connect and share their stories of gratitude.

Donation Requirements: Minimum of 8–10 inches of healthy hair growth
We welcome you to be part of a community of women supporting women. OAW offers complimentary haircuts for local donors, as well as virtual donation consultations to guide you through the process step-by-step—including how to safely mail your hair to our center.

How to Donate Your Hair

  • 1. Start with clean, dry hair

Wash and fully dry your hair before cutting. Avoid heavy oils, serums, or styling products.

  • 2. Section your hair

Divide hair into 2–4 even sections and secure each with elastics.

  • 3. Secure properly

Leave at least 1 inch of hair above each elastic to keep the bundle secure and prevent unraveling.

  • 4. Cut carefully

Using sharp hair shears, cut just above the elastic bands to ensure each section stays tightly secured.

  • 5. Package your donation

Place the hair in a sealed, secure bag to protect it during transit.

  • 6. Mail your donation

    Send your hair to:
1523 S. La Cienega Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90035
